Angels hosting postseason rally Thursday

Free event set for 6 PT following finale at Angel Stadium

09/30/09 10:00 PM ET

ANAHEIM -- The Angels will celebrate their fifth American League West title in six years with a postseason rally at Angel Stadium immediately following the Angels' 3 p.m. PT game against the Rangers on Thursday.

The rally is expected to begin at approximately 6 p.m. and admission is free with fans asked to enter the parking lot at the Orangewood entrance and enter the stadium through the Home Plate Gate after the completion of the eighth inning.

Broadcasters Steve Physioc and Rex Hudler will host the event and will interview current players and coaches on the field as well as former Angels such as Bobby Grich and Clyde Wright.

The event will also feature highlights of the 2009 season on the video board, the U.S. Army parachute team, "Golden Knights," a special sendoff to honor the Angels as they leave for their final road trip to Oakland and a fireworks show set to music to end the event.

Also, fans can participate in the "Avid Fan Contest" for a chance to win four tickets to a 2009 AL Division Series game. The contestant that shows the most enthusiasm and has the best costume will win the prize. Contestants are asked to identify themselves in person in front of the Diamond Club Restaurant before the contest to be considered.

Select concession stands will also be open and AL West champions merchandise will be available at the Angels Team Store and at merchandise stands throughout the ballpark.
