Moseley hoping to return by late July
Angels right-hander recuperating from multiple injuries

PHOENIX -- That smiling face in the Angels' clubhouse, delighted to see his buddies again, belonged to Dustin Moseley, the right-hander whose season has been, as he put it, "frustrating ... very frustrating."

Moseley has been at the Angels' Spring Training facility in Tempe for about a month with several ailments being treated -- including a left hip issue that had been bothering him in addition to forearm stiffness and a nerve condition.
"I want to say by the end of July I'll be ready to go," Moseley said. "Depending on what they want me to do, I could be back earlier."
Moseley has been playing catch at 90 feet without incident and feels he can extend himself enough to get on the mound and recapture his rhythm and timing. It will take him longer to gain the stamina needed to start than it would if he's slotted into the bullpen, where he was highly productive in 46 appearances in 2007.
While physiotherapy sessions "have done wonders," he said, for the nerve condition that ran from his neck down his arm, his hip "started acting up -- and we're not sure exactly what it is."
An MRI was taken of the hip but didn't show anything that would prevent him from getting back on the mound, Moseley said.
The 27-year-old native of Texarkana, Ark., has been shelved since April 18. He opened the season with promise in the form of two solid starts against the A's and Red Sox before experiencing elbow stiffness that evolved into the nerve issue.
"If my arm feels the way it has lately, I'll be ready to go before long," Moseley said. "Seeing the guys for a few days is therapeutic in an emotional sense."
